One of those mornings.....

Do you ever just wanna stay in bed? All this rain has made us so tired and lazy. Nobody wants to get up and get moving in the morning. I was awakened early this morning by our stupid cat chasing a mouse around the living room. She would catch it and then let it go so she could chase it around in circles, over and over again. I'm really hoping the rain stops soon so I can get some energy and get outside some. The sunshine really has a way of cheering me up!

Easter Sunday!

Easter Sunday is one of my favorite days of the year....a time to remember and celebrate that Christ is Risen! I do have a hope...I have a future...and I have a Savior who is Risen! Honestly, I do not know how people without faith in Christ cope in these troubling times. I'm so thankful for my Risen Savior. Easter was a rainy one this year..... no outside photos...no Easter egg hunt...no good photos of the girls' pretty dresses. As soon as the weather breaks, we are going to Kingwood Center to show off their new clothes and to document how much they have grown over the winter. I did manage to get some photos of the kids with their Easter baskets.

10 years ago today....

my baby, Carmen, was born! What a joy she has brought to our lives with her feisty, spunky personality. The things that come out of her mouth sometimes just make me laugh, and she is so loving and sweet (most of the time)! God has blessed us with my Carmen! She is double digits today... where does time go?

I won...I won!

I am on my way to work this morning and the local radio talk show was playing Match Game. I always have my phone in hand, just in case I might know the answer to the question. The question was about the Boston Red Sox (and I know nothing about baseball) so I almost tuned it out, but I didn't. The Red Sox got beat so badly yesterday that their socks aren't red, they are ______________. I had to match the radio personality Tommy Barnes' answer. A couple of calls came in with obvious answers like "white", etc. My immediate thought was "bleeding". Ha! I thought that was a great answer, but they started giving hints like "think candy". I then knew the answer was "baked" for Boston baked beans. I called, the phone rang, I answered, and I won 4 tickets to the local play entitled Twilight Garden at the Renaissance Theatre on Sunday afternoon. The girls and I are going to have some girl time. It is an interactive play on stage with the characters, and it is a family friendly play about growing older. I can so relate to this....

The middle of the week.....

and I'm getting ready for a Ladies' Retreat at our church this weekend. On Friday night, we are having a craft expo and I'm preparing for 200 make 'n takes. I wanted to make something rather easy and quick for the ladies to make since they will not have a lot of time at each booth to create. I decided to make 2 different Spring gift tags with some punch work and some stamping. Then, on Saturday, the girls and I are doing a way-too-real-to-life skit about sharing the bathroom on a Sunday morning before church. I'm just praying someone laughs a couple of times!

While I was preparing for the tags last night, Carmen comes running in the house and says, "Mom, come look at the deer!" I grabbed my camera and took a couple of shots. Unfortunately, it was getting dark and I didn't have the right lens on my camera, but I still am amazed at how beautiful God's creatures are...especially when they are right in my back yard:

So...my goal with this blog is to not only share my scrapbooking passion and projects with you but to also share little snippets of my crazy life. Raising 4 kids, ages 16, 13, 12 and 10, is not easy. There are days, a lot of days, when I am pulling my hair out, wondering if I am a good parent, wondering if I am too hard on them, wondering if I am too inconsistent with discipline, etc. Then, there are days when something sweet happens in our home, and I think to myself, "they really are good kids!" Today was one of those mornings when I was content when I left home because there was very little fussing, very little attitude and hormones floating through the air, and Candace actually packed her siblings' lunches for them...with a note for each of them.

I love being a Mom!

The album kit from My Creative Scrapbook is fabulous!

And here are some pages I created with this kit. I just adore all the fabric, floss and flowers included in this kit. I just had fun with it....

I am new to this blogging thing....

but I figured it was time to finally start a blog. Excuse me while I'm learning how to do this and experimenting with color/templates/format, etc. Let's see how this turns out.... and I welcome any comments or advice.
